2025 Winter Riding Challenge

Seeking to get a jumpstart on the spring and summer mounted shooting competitions? Wanting extra motivation to get out there and spend quality time with your horse? Join us for a fun challenge to track your rides from February 1st to May 15th. The goal is to get a minimum of 40 rides in this time period with your horse. Do this, and be entered to win a variety of prizes including Be Gutsy Jewelry, HayChix hay nets and Travis Quarter Horses tee shirts, hats and more. Rides are tracked using the honor system, but you can also join our MO CMSA group on Equilab.

This challenge has a $10 registration fee to pay for shipping prizes, and to weed out the folks that sign up but don't actually participate. :-)

Winter Riding Challenge Rules

This is a fun challenge that is designed to motivate us all to get out there and ride and work with our horses in what is the off season for many of us. We've put a few guidelines in place to help us all stay accountable. 

  • Challenge will run from February 1st to May 15th.

  • You can enter at any point, but you'll still have to meet the minimum ride numbers!

  • You don't have to be a mounted shooter to sign up, all are welcome. Just be aware a lot of the prizes are mounted shooter themed! 

  • All rides must be submitted using our online form here on the website. 

  • Suggested to submit weekly riding reports to hold yourself accountable and stay on track! 

  • Can use multiple horses throughout the challenge.

  • Minimum ride time of 15 minutes

  • Minimum of 40 total rides completed.
