We've been helping new shooters get started for a lot of years now, we enjoy giving back to the sport that's given us so much.
We're not here to critique your form in detail, our belief and experience isthat form follows function. Learn to communicate with your horse clearly, succinctly and with a basis of trust and your riding will be beautiful. Mounted shooting patterns are simply a gauge of your horse's trust in your leadership.
We've witnessed many new shooters try to work through a horse's resistance by repeating the stimuli no matter how fearful they are (i.e. just keep shooting, he'll get over it!). That's not our method,if you're interested in help avoiding that scenario, give us a call .
Just make sure you call before you scare the bejeebies out of your horse if you want a shot (pun intended) at making a shooting horse in the quickest time frame.
Lesson Pricing is $40 an hour for group lessons (2 or more people) and $60 an hour for private lessons.
We've had fun putting on successful horsemanship, mounted shooting, and gunbreaking clinics all over the midwest, including at multiple horse expos and on the big stage at the Midwest Horse Fair, the largest horse fair in the U.S. I guess I'm gonna casually drop that until I die, because 72,000 people over four days scared the pants off me personally.
The tried and true methods that we've developed and have honed over two decades are horsemanship-based, designed for helping shooters get started and get their horses on the right track, not the fast track.
Mo unted shooting is more than dressing up like a cowboy and shooting a gun off your horse. It's a test of the ultimate partnership between horse and rider, and requires a higher level of horsemanship. If you want to be a better horseman there's only one way to do that, by spending a lot of time in the saddle. That means these aren't ground work heavy and you will need to come prepared, because in our clinics, we RIDE.
We've lent a helping hand to a lot of good folks, great horses and very competitive mounted shooters over the years, and had a lot of help ourselves getting to the highest level of the sport.
PLEASE NOTE: WE DON'T GUNBREAK BOTH MULES AND HORSES IN THE SAME CLINIC, IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN PUTTING YOUR MULE IN A CLINIC PLEASE CONTACT US.
